Oh, hi there! It's been a long while. I've been slacking on getting anything posted on the blog per usual at this time of year. It's tough stuff playing the many roles of a small business owner. I don't often find the time to blog but there sure have been some fun things going on. Twig & Twine has gotten some awesome press and features lately. I'm very grateful for all the publicity and online love that both the shop and my floral work has gotten. I wish I had time to share every feature on here but instead I'll direct you to my press page. And if you haven't checked the Twig & Twine Instagram yet here is the link. An (almost) daily dose of flower inspiration and beauty. I'll leave you with an image from one of my favorite arrangements as of late. I love fall more and more each year and this was such a fun spin on the season. Photo by the ever so talented Paige Jones and be sure to check out the full tablescape here.

Super excited about the shop's feature on More Than Stores. If you haven't checked out the More Than Stores site you most definitely should. It's a wonderfully curated selection of businesses that are contributing to the local community. Beautiful photographs, personal interviews and great videos that share each locations' story. The feature really captures Twig & Twine in such a true way. A big thanks to Avi and Nick for all of their hard work.

The colorful gorgeousness of this fall wedding from last year still gets me. It's probably one of the most colorful weddings I've designed to this date. A mix of citrusy oranges, sunshine yellow, vibrant coral, lush green and pretty pinks. It really brought the Huron Substation to life.
Such a stellar A-list team came together for this one. Tori from Sitting in a Tree was the designer/planner, Heirloom LA catered, Flashdance DJ-ed, Jen Huang took amazing photos, Wade of SharkPig created a fantastically fun video and Yeah Rentals was used for the ecclectic rentals. Be sure to check out the full feature on Style Me Pretty or visit the porfolio section of the site for more pictures.

Earlier this month I held my first workshop in my shop/studio space. It was a blast and all the attendees did such a wonderful job I had to share a few photos. I always enjoy watching how different people's arrangements turn out even when using the same ingredients. Further solidifies the fact that there is no right or wrong in artistic and creative endeavors. I already have a class planned for April that is full but I hope to squeeze in more throughout the year when weddings are on the mellow side. Keep an eye out on social media for more information and dates to come.
A big hanks to Vanessa Ha for snapping some great photos while also attending the workshop!

I've been a bad blogger. I like creating things with my hands and making 3 dimensional items come to life. Words have never really been my forte.
Spring has sprung in the flower world and I've been consumed with a never ending stream of lovely blooms. It's been heavenly. I don't always play favorites but I will say that this is truly the best time of year for flowers. Peonies are right around the corner too. I love that time when the seasons blend...peonies, ranunculus, anemones, muscari, fritilaria, lilac, hellebores and garden roses all at once. Dreamy. Head on over to my Instagram account to check out my recent springy daily creations. I've been having lots of fun.
Now I'm going to take you right back to fall with the wedding below. This was along the coast of Santa Barbara County. Roger of EP Love took the pics of this fun affair.

As a lover of spring flowers I can't help but share the wealth of beauty that mother nature bestows upon us at this time of year. The ever so sweet muscari, perfectly petalled ranunculus, heaven scented sweet peas, the uniquely complex anemones, gorgeously shaped hellebores….just to name a few. Each make my heart melt a little when they start popping up at the flower market. With that being said, spring seems like the perfect time to hold my very first public workshop at the Twig & Twine studio!
Join me on Sunday March 16th for a late afternoon gathering of hands on arranging and instruction. The $200 fee will include a wonderful selections of spring blooms and greenery to choose from, your own set of floral scissors (to keep!), a vase that you will take home with your carefully sculpted arrangement in side, verbal tips and tricks of the trade and general guidance from a flower pro. Class space is limited to 12 people. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to hold your space. Hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am!

I must admit….Ali & Duncan's venue was pretty stellar. It's a private residence called Harold's House that is perched along the hills right behind the beach in the Palisades. Ocean blues for days. Because the view had so much to offer Ali opted for a more minimal tablescape full of candle light with touches of flowers. We used gold, silver and clear glass votives along with hurricanes to fill the middle of the tables. We then added in touches of white flowers with accented greenery and foliage painted gold for a little life. I definitely stepped outside my usual style for this wedding but I think the combination of metallics with the fresh whites and candle light was a wonderful version of sublte glam.

I am super excited about the wonderful write-up in LA I'm Yours today. I am a pretty avid reader of the blog for local happenings and hip new spots to visit – be sure to check it out if you haven't yet – so when Kyle decided to do a story on the shop I was thrilled. I think he did a fantastic job of capturing the vibe and overall feel I am trying to portray. It made me feel good to know that's coming across to others. I read the article on my phone while eating a solo lunch at a busy restaurant and couldn't help but smile like a silly fool. It's funny how a sense of accomplishment sometimes comes when you take a step away and see things through the eyes of another. Thanks for making my day Kyle!

A big thanks to Green Wedding Shoes for featuring Ashley & Nick's Carondelet House wedding today! Jen, of J Wiley Photography, really captured some amazing moments between these two. I love how happy both Ashley and Nick look in the pictures. Seriously puts a smile on my face every time I look at the images.
