As a lover of spring flowers I can't help but share the wealth of beauty that mother nature bestows upon us at this time of year. The ever so sweet muscari, perfectly petalled ranunculus, heaven scented sweet peas, the uniquely complex anemones, gorgeously shaped hellebores….just to name a few. Each make my heart melt a little when they start popping up at the flower market. With that being said, spring seems like the perfect time to hold my very first public workshop at the Twig & Twine studio!
Join me on Sunday March 16th for a late afternoon gathering of hands on arranging and instruction. The $200 fee will include a wonderful selections of spring blooms and greenery to choose from, your own set of floral scissors (to keep!), a vase that you will take home with your carefully sculpted arrangement in side, verbal tips and tricks of the trade and general guidance from a flower pro. Class space is limited to 12 people. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Please email email@example.com to hold your space. Hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am!

I must admit….Ali & Duncan's venue was pretty stellar. It's a private residence called Harold's House that is perched along the hills right behind the beach in the Palisades. Ocean blues for days. Because the view had so much to offer Ali opted for a more minimal tablescape full of candle light with touches of flowers. We used gold, silver and clear glass votives along with hurricanes to fill the middle of the tables. We then added in touches of white flowers with accented greenery and foliage painted gold for a little life. I definitely stepped outside my usual style for this wedding but I think the combination of metallics with the fresh whites and candle light was a wonderful version of sublte glam.

I am super excited about the wonderful write-up in LA I'm Yours today. I am a pretty avid reader of the blog for local happenings and hip new spots to visit – be sure to check it out if you haven't yet – so when Kyle decided to do a story on the shop I was thrilled. I think he did a fantastic job of capturing the vibe and overall feel I am trying to portray. It made me feel good to know that's coming across to others. I read the article on my phone while eating a solo lunch at a busy restaurant and couldn't help but smile like a silly fool. It's funny how a sense of accomplishment sometimes comes when you take a step away and see things through the eyes of another. Thanks for making my day Kyle!

A big thanks to Green Wedding Shoes for featuring Ashley & Nick's Carondelet House wedding today! Jen, of J Wiley Photography, really captured some amazing moments between these two. I love how happy both Ashley and Nick look in the pictures. Seriously puts a smile on my face every time I look at the images.

A dark and dreamy SmogShoppe wedding I worked on with Lorena from Bash Please last year. A bit uncoventional in many ways (the bride even went bouquet-less) but I love it when my clients turn their wedding into exactly what they want it to be. Break the rules you soon to be wed couples...I promise it will be awesome.

A summery blast in the midst of winter thanks to Kate & Ryan's posr on Wedding Chicks today! This Adamson House gathering featured peonies and succulents. Such a feminine pink palette with touches of blue to tie in the Pacific that softly broke just feet away. Planning by The Green Ribbon Party Planning Co., catering by Whoa Nelly and pictures by Katie Vowels for Annie McElwain. See the full feature on the Wedding Chicks here.

It's a cold, cold weekend here in LA so I think it fitting to relive a happy and sunny Ojai wedding from last summer! Catherine and Peter were a charm to work with. Catherine knew she wanted pops of color and a relaxed feeling but overall left the details up to the professional (me!). Their wedding was held at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa which is beautiful and spacious. You should of seen the full moon come up over that big white tent. The only thing more unreal was the fireworks show that Peter surprised Catherine with as they made their grand exit. Talk about outdoing himself! What a keeper – nice find Catherine. : )

Jackie & Marcus were married in late summer at Hummingbird Nest Ranch. Talk about pretty venue....it was my first time working there and I had no idea that this gem was hidden in The Valley. Jackie chose a palette of green and white with touches of neutrals which was very fitting for the vibrantly colored Spanish style villa and surrounding grounds. They spent the night with their loved ones celebrating under the stars tucked away on a gorgeous ranch. Couldn't get much better. Congrats Jackie &n Marcus!

These 2 were married at Calamigos last May. They were super sweet and a charm to work with. They planned from Asia, where they work and live, but were still able to add in sweet touches of DIY to personalize the weding. I loved how dapper all the groomsmen looked in their ties and suspenders. And the indigo blue accents with those coral peonies...dreamy color combo if you ask me.
